My opinion about Twitter has changed drastically over the past couple of years. I went from being a very big supporter of Twitter and its business to now being extremely disappointed and critical about its moves to oppress “Freedom of Expression” on its platform due to the political bias of the company’s management.

It’s not going to help the business side of Twitter in the long term and only going to create an opportunity for a potential competitor to it down the lane.

But, in this blog post, I want to discuss Twitter’s new premium subscription service of its social media platform called “Twitter Blue”. And I want to do that from the business perspective and not from my personal point of view.

So, for a long time now Twitter has been struggling to be profitable in terms of revenue. To do that it had been trying various levels of Advertising products on its platform, but none of them seem to have made the company skyrocket in terms of making money.

After being only marginally profitable and having a tough time growing its global userbase, Twitter is finally trying out a new method in the form of a premium monthly subscription to bring in revenues and help the company grow further.

Twitter Blue is basically a normal Twitter account with a wide range of feature sets that is only exclusively available to its premium subscribers who are willing to pay $2.99 U.S. dollars per month.

Twitter Blue service is now widely available on almost all platforms such as iOS, Android, and Web app versions of Twitter.

Earlier this year Twitter launched this premium service in Canada and Australia as a form of the beta version to test and see its user's responses. And now, the company wants to expand this feature to the United States and New Zealand market too.

Now, let me highlight Twitter Blue and its exclusive set of features. It includes a better way to bookmark and organize important pieces of information on the platform. It also makes the part of reading a long Twitter thread easy by making it clutter-free. There also seems to be a way to correct typos before publishing a tweet along with getting access to “Twitter labs” where the subscribed users can get to try the newest and upcoming features of the social network.

Twitter Blue also has a feature called “Top Articles” which will be including a set of important news posts that are being shared and read the most on its platform in any given past 24 hours. And, to top that, some of the news articles from a select group of news publishers will be offered “Ad-Free” with absolutely no interruptions.

I think from a business perspective Twitter Blue as a premium subscription service seems to be a good idea from Twitter since it can be very easily scaled-up with more valuable features down the lane. And that very thing can help the company make more people subscribe to it and use it.

More subscribers mean more money, and more money means happy investors of Twitter stock.

Kudos to Twitter for what it is trying to do with Twitter Blue, hope it turns out to be good for their business.

Thank you for reading this, and God Bless Everyone.
