Spotify has become one of my most favorite companies in the past couple of years because of its fast-moving nature into new business landscapes and opportunities. And, to everyone’s surprise, even to me, Spotify has actually done pretty well in all of those risky ventures to reap some good rewards in the trajectory of its growth over the past eight-plus years.

Now that is something I want to discuss and break down in the form of numbers in accordance with the company’s annual revenue from the year 2012 to 2020.

For those of you who don’t know Spotify actually has two primary sources of revenue and they are premium subscription and In-app advertising.

Even though advertising part of their revenue has not been a big part of their cash flow for a long time now, things seem to be changing with the increase from revenue through In-app ads in the past three or so years.

And, below is the graphical representation of the company’s annual revenue throughout the years. Note: The revenue mentioned is in million euros.

Spotify Annual revenue from 2012 to 2020

As it is visually visible you can pretty much see the steady and strong growth in the cash flow of Spotify’s annual revenue in the past eight-plus years. Things have just gone up on a year-over-year basis. Both the revenue segments of premium subscription and advertising has seen a dramatic increase over the course of time.

The annual revenue of Spotify was a mere 374 million euros through premium subscriptions and 55.5 million euros through In-app advertising in the year 2012. And the same segments of revenue have reached 7.1 billion euros in subscriptions and 745 million euros in advertising in the year 2020.

The growth of this company has been phenomenal over the years, and it is beautiful to look at revenue increase like this because a lot of businesses don’t have such growth in a constant growing style graph for these many years in a row.

One of the biggest reasons behind this kind of growth is the management team of Spotify and its CEO, Mr. Daniel Ek.

Kudos to everyone who has worked hard behind Spotify for years now to make it the success of the company that it is today.

Thank you for reading this, and God Bless Everyone.
