Sense is an interesting startup that is helping the world get better by making companies hire the best and most appropriate talent to build their teams. And, I think it's a great thing to do because good hiring of talent can not just change the future of a company but also the world that will be getting impacted by the company’s growth and success.

In this blog post, I want to discuss the venture funding journey of Sense over multiple money-raising rounds from the seed to up until the one just a week ago.

Let’s get started but before that here is a must-read official snippet about the startup to get a better understanding of it.

Official intro about Sense: Sense is a smart talent engagement and communication platform built for the staffing industry. It helps reduce turnover, increases re-deployment rates, and gives a real-time 360 view of the pulse of consultants. Founded in 2016, the company is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

Sense is a diverse, collaborative team committed to perfecting the way companies engage with talent. It is creating a better experience for employers, recruiters, and candidates. End of the snippet.

Now, enough with the intro and let’s talk about the numbers.

Down below is the complete breakdown of Sense’s funding details in the order of funding date, amount of money raised, and lead investor information.

  • Date — June 27th, 2015 Seed round with no information of the amount of money raised and lead investor details.
  • Date — June 21st, 2017 Series A round with $10M raised from Accel and GV as the lead investors.
  • Date — May 3rd, 2019 Series B round with $13.5M raised from GV as the lead investor.
  • Date — June 16th, 2021 Series C round with $16M raised but no information on lead investors is available for the same.
  • Date — December 5th, 2021 Series D round with $50M raised from SoftBank Vision Fund as the lead investor.

As you can see, Sense has raised a total of $89.5 million U.S. dollars from a total of five different funding rounds with the latest one being from the SoftBank Vision Fund which is kind of a very good thing.

In my opinion, Sense as a platform seems to be solving a very crucial problem of helping companies onboard the best talent possible to build the perfect team. A perfect team of talented individuals can mean success for a project and when companies get empowered by platforms like Sense things can change drastically for both their business and its future prospects.

Kudos to Sense on their startup journey up until now, I wish them the best for all of their future endeavors.

Thank you for reading this, and God Bless Everyone.
